Hadith 825
825/1077 (Sahih) From Abu al-‘Alaniyyah who said: I came to Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri, and greeted him with salam, but I was not given permission. Then I greeted him again, but I was not given permission. Then I greeted him a third time and raised my voice, saying: Peace be upon you, O people of the house! But I was not given permission, so I moved aside and sat down. Then a boy came out to me and said: Enter. So I entered, and Abu Sa‘id said to me: "If you had increased (your greetings), you would not have been given permission." Then I asked him about the vessels, and I did not ask him about anything except that he said: "It is forbidden," until I asked him about the jaf. He said: "It is forbidden." Muhammad said: "A lead is placed on its top, and it is tied."
