Hadith 742
742/960 (صحيح) عن جابر قال: صرع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من فرس بالمدينة على جذع نخلة، فانفكت قدمه، فكنا نعوده في مشربة لعائشة رضي الله عنها، فأتيناه، وهو يصلي قاعداً، فصليناً قياماً، ثم أتيناه مرة أخرى وهو يصلي المكتوبة قاعداً، فصلينا خلفه قياماً، فأومأ إلينا أنِ اقعدوا، فلما قضى الصلاة، قال: "إذا صلى الإمام قاعداً فصلوا قعوداً، وإذا صلى قائماً فصلوا قياماً، ولا تقوموا والإمام قاعد، كما تفعل فارس بعظمائهم".
742/960 (Sahih) From Jabir who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, fell from a horse in Medina onto the trunk of a palm tree, and his foot was dislocated. So we used to visit him in the upper room of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her. We came to him while he was praying sitting, so we prayed standing. Then we came to him another time while he was praying the obligatory prayer sitting, so we prayed behind him standing. He gestured to us to sit down. When he finished the prayer, he said: "If the imam prays sitting, then pray sitting; and if he prays standing, then pray standing. Do not stand while the imam is sitting, as the Persians do with their great ones."
Hadith 743
743/961 (صحيح) قال [جابر]: وولد لفلان(1) من الأنصار غلام، فسماه محمداً، فقالت الأنصار : لا نكنيك برسول الله. حتى قعدنا في الطريق نسأله عن الساعة؟ فقال: " جئتموني تسألوني عن الساعة؟" قلنا نعم قال: " ما من نفس منفوسة، يأتي عليها مائة سنة". قلنا ولد لفلان من الأنصار غلام فسماه محمداً، فقالت الأنصار: لا نكنيك برسول الله. قال: " أحسنت الأنصار. سمّوا باسمي، ولا تكنوا بكنيتي)).
743/961 (Sahih) [جابر] said: A son was born to so-and-so(1) from the Ansar, and he named him Muhammad. The Ansar said: We will not give you the kunya of the Messenger of Allah. Until we sat in the road asking him about the Hour. He said: "You have come to me asking me about the Hour?" We said: Yes. He said: "There is no soul that will reach one hundred years." We said: A son was born to so-and-so from the Ansar and he named him Muhammad, and the Ansar said: We will not give you the kunya of the Messenger of Allah. He said: "The Ansar have done well. Name (your children) with my name, but do not use my kunya."
