Sahih Adab al-Mufrad

737/957 (Sahih) From Abu Al-‘Aliyah; Al-Bara’, who said: ‘Abdullah ibn Al-Samit passed by me, so I placed a chair for him and he sat. I said to him: “Ibn Abi Ziyad has delayed the prayer, what do you command?” He struck my thigh—a blow, I think he said, that left a mark—then said: “I asked [خليلي/954] Abu Dharr as you have asked me, and he struck my thigh as I struck yours, then said: [أتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بوضوء، فحرك رأسه، وعض على شفتيه! قلت: بأبي أنت وأمي، آذيتك؟ قال: " لا ولكنك تدرك أمراء – أو أئمة- يؤخرون الصلاة لوقتها". فقلت: فما تأمرني؟ قال: ] ‘Pray the prayer at its time; then if you catch it with them, pray [with them], and do not say (in another narration: and do not ever say): I have already prayed, so I will not pray.’”

738/(958/1) From Abdullah ibn Umar: That Umar ibn al-Khattab set out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with a group of his companions towards Ibn Sayyad, until they found him playing with the boys in the enclosure of Banu Maghala, and at that time Ibn Sayyad was nearing puberty. He did not notice until the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, struck his back with his hand, then said: "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" He looked at him and said: I bear witness that you are the Messenger of the unlettered! Ibn Sayyad said: Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, pressed him, then said: "I believe in Allah and His Messenger." Then he said to Ibn Sayyad: "What do you see?" Ibn Sayyad said: A truthful one and a liar come to me. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The matter has been confused for you." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I have concealed something for you." He said: It is ad-dukh. He said: "Be gone, for you will not go beyond your rank." Umar said: O Messenger of Allah! Do you permit me to strike his neck? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If he is him, you will not be given power over him, and if he is not, then there is no good for you in killing him."

739/(958/2)- Abdullah ibn Umar said: After that, the Prophet, peace be upon him, and Ubayy ibn Ka'b al-Ansari went one day to the palm trees where Ibn Sayyad was. When the Prophet, peace be upon him, entered, he began to shield himself behind the trunks of the palm trees, while he was hearing something from Ibn Sayyad before seeing him. Ibn Sayyad was lying on his bed, wrapped in a blanket, murmuring something. The mother of Ibn Sayyad saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, as he was shielding himself behind the trunks of the palm trees, and she said to Ibn Sayyad: "O Saf! (that was his name), this is Muhammad." So Ibn Sayyad stopped. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "If she had left him, it would have become clear."

740/(958/3) (Sahih) Abdullah said: The Prophet, peace be upon him, stood among the people and praised Allah as He deserves, then mentioned the Dajjal and said: "I am warning you about him, and there has not been a prophet except that he warned his people. Indeed, Noah warned his people, but I will say to you about him something that no prophet has said to his people: You should know that he is one-eyed, and that Allah is not one-eyed."

741/959 (authentic chain) From Jabir who said: "When the Prophet, peace be upon him, was in a state of janabah, he would pour three handfuls of water over his head." Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad said: By Allah! My hair is more than that! He (Jabir) struck [ جابر] his hand on Al-Hasan's thigh and said: O son of my brother! The hair of the Prophet, peace be upon him, was more than your hair and better.
