Sahih Adab al-Mufrad

685/886 From Amr ibn al-As who said: "I am amazed at the man who flees from destiny, while he is meeting it! And he sees the speck in his brother's eye, and leaves the log in his own eye! And he brings out the malice from his brother's soul, and leaves the malice in his own soul! And I have never entrusted my secret to anyone and then blamed him for disclosing it, and how can I blame him when I myself could not contain it?"
