Hadith 650
650/842 (صحيح) عن جابر قال: ولد لرجل منا غلام، فسماه القاسم، فقالت الأنصار: لا نكنيك أبا القاسم، ولا ننعمك عيناً، فأتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال له ما قالت [الأنصار]. فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : " أحسنت الأنصار؛ تسمّوا باسمي، ولا تكتنّوا بكنيتي؛ فإنما أنا قاسم".
650/842 (Sahih) From Jabir who said: A man among us had a boy born to him, so he named him al-Qasim. The Ansar said: "We will not give you the kunya Abu al-Qasim, nor will we let you be delighted." So he went to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and told him what [الأنصار] had said. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The Ansar have done well; name yourselves with my name, but do not take my kunya, for I am al-Qasim."
Hadith 651
651/843 (صحيح) عن ابن الحنفية قال: كانت رخصة لعلي، قال: يا رسول الله! إن ولد لي بعدك أسميه باسمك، وأكنيه بكنيتك؟ قال: "نعم".
651/843 (Sahih) From Ibn al-Hanafiyyah who said: It was a concession for Ali, he said: O Messenger of Allah! If a child is born to me after you, may I name him with your name and give him your kunya? He said: "Yes."
Hadith 652
652/844 عن أبي هريرة، قال: نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن نجمع بين اسمه وكنيته، وقال: "أنا أبو القاسم، والله يعطي، وأنا أقسم".
652/844 From Abu Huraira, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade us from combining his name and his kunyah, and he said: "I am Abu al-Qasim, Allah gives, and I distribute."
