Hadith 649
649/841 (صحيح) عن سعيد بن المسيب، عن أبيه، عن جده، أنه أتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: "ما اسمك؟". قال: حزن. قال: "أنت سهل". قال: لا أغير اسماً سمانيه أبي! قال ابن المسيب: فما زالت الحزونة فينا بعد. (ومن طريق أخرى عن سعيد بن المسيب أن جده حزناً … فذكره مرسلاً).
649/841 (Sahih) From Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, from his father, from his grandfather, that he came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and he said: "What is your name?" He said: Huzn. He said: "You are Sahl." He said: I will not change a name my father gave me! Ibn al-Musayyib said: So harshness remained among us after that. (And from another route from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib that his grandfather was Huzn ... and he mentioned it as mursal.)
