Hadith 641
641/833- (صحيح) عن جابر، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إن عشت نهيت أمتي_ إن شاء الله- أن يسمي أحدهم بركة، ونافعاً، وأفلح، (ولا أدري قال: "رافع" أم لا؟) يقال: هاهنا بركة؟ فيقال : ليس ها هنا " فقبض النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ولم ينه عن ذلك.
641/833- (Sahih) From Jabir, from the Prophet, peace be upon him, who said: "If I live, I will forbid my ummah—if Allah wills—that any of them name (their children) Barakah, Nafi‘, or Aflah, (and I do not know if he said: 'Rafi‘' or not?) It would be said: Is Barakah here? And it would be said: He is not here." Then the Prophet, peace be upon him, passed away and did not forbid that.
Hadith 642
642/834 (صحيح) وعنه من طريق أخرى: أراد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أن ينهى أن يسمى بيعلى، وببركة، ونافع، ويسار، وأفلح، ونحو ذلك، ثم سكت بعدُ عنها، فلم يقل شيئاً.
642/834 (Sahih) And from him through another route: The Prophet, peace be upon him, intended to forbid naming with Ya'la, Baraka, Nafi', Yasar, Aflah, and the like, then he remained silent about it afterward and did not say anything.
