Hadith 599
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that on the day of Hunayn, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was at the place of Ji‘ranah (the name of a place seven miles from Makkah towards Ta’if). Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) had a piece of gold in his lap, and he was distributing it. A man came to you and said: “Be just. You are not being just.” You (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Woe to you! If I do not act justly, then who will act justly?” Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “O Messenger of Allah! Allow me to strike the neck of this hypocrite.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “He is with his companions.” Or he said: “He is among his companions. These people will recite the Qur’an, but the Qur’an will not go below their throats. They will go out of the religion just as an arrow passes out of the bow.” I said to Sufyan: “Did Qurrat narrate this from ‘Amr and ‘Amr from Jabir?” He said: “I do not remember it being from ‘Amr, this hadith was narrated to us by Abu Zubair from Jabir.”

Hadith 600
It is narrated from Bashir bin Ma’bad Sudusi, whose name was Zahm bin Ma’bad. He migrated and presented himself to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) asked, “What is your name?” He replied, “Zahm.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “No, rather you are Bashir.” He narrates that once I was walking with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “O son of Khasasiyyah (she was his grandmother or maternal grandmother)! What is the matter that you have started to be displeased with Allah, while your condition is that you are walking with the Messenger of Allah?” I said, “May my parents be sacrificed for you, I am not displeased with Allah over anything. I have attained every kind of good.” While the Prophet (ﷺ) was passing by some graves—and in one narration, he passed by the graves of the polytheists—the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “These people have gone ahead, leaving behind much goodness.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said this three times. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by some other graves—and in one narration, he came to the graves of the Muslims—and said three times, “These people have attained much goodness.” Then the gaze of the Prophet (ﷺ) was raised and he saw a man walking among the graves wearing shoes. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “O wearer of leather shoes! Remove your leather shoes.” So the man looked, and when he saw the Prophet (ﷺ), he took off his shoes and threw them away.
