Hadith 573
It is narrated from Abu Shurayh Adawi that he said: My two ears heard and my eyes saw when the Prophet (peace be upon him) was saying: Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his neighbor, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest by giving him a gift. Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by his gift? He said: "A day and a night. Recommended hospitality is for three days, and whatever is beyond that is charity for the guest. It is not permissible for him to stay with him to the extent that he puts him in difficulty. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent."
