Hadith 559
559/722 عن موسى بن عبد العزيز(1) قال : حدثني الحكم قال : حدثني عكرمة؛ أن ابن عباس كان إذا سمع صوت الرعد قال: "سبحان الذي سبحت له". قال: "إن الرعد ملك ينعق بالغيث، كما ينعق الراعي بغنمه".
It is narrated from Musa bin Abdul Aziz, he said: Hakam narrated to me, he said: Ikrimah narrated to me that when Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) heard the sound of thunder, he used to say «سبحان الذى سبحت له» "Glory be to Him whom you have glorified." And he said: Thunder is an angel who drives the clouds just as a shepherd drives his goats.
Hadith 560
560/723 عن عبد الله بن الزبير: أنه كان إذا سمع الرعد ترك الحديث، وقال: "سبحان الذي ? يسبح الرعد بحمده. والملائكة من خيفته?، [الرعد: 13] ثم يقول: "إن هذا لوعيد شديد لأهل الأرض".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he used to hear the sound of thunder, he would stop speaking and say: «سبحان الذى يسبح الرعد بحمده والملائكة من خيفته» Then he would say: This is a severe warning for the inhabitants of the earth.
