Hadith 482
482/618 عن ابن عمر قال: إن كنا لنعد في المجلس للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : "رب اغفر لي وتب عليّ، إنك أنت التواب الرحيم"(1) مائة مرة.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: We used to count the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting this supplication one hundred times in a single gathering: «رب اغفر لي وتب عليّ، إنك أنت التواب الرحيم» "O Lord! Forgive me and accept my repentance. Indeed, You are the Acceptor of repentance, the Most Merciful."
Hadith 483
483/619 عن عائشة رضي الله عنها، قالت: صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الضحى، ثم قال: "اللهم اغفر لي، وتب علي، إنك أنت التواب الرحيم" حتى قالها مائة مرة.
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the Duha prayer, then said: «اللهم اغفر لي، وتب علي، إنك أنت التواب الرحيم» "O Allah! Forgive me, accept my repentance, indeed You are the Acceptor of repentance and the Most Merciful." He continued to say this supplication one hundred times.
Hadith 484
484/620 حدثني شداد بن أوس، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "سيد الاستغفار، أن يقول: اللهم أنت ربي، لا إله إلا أنت، خلقتني وأنا عبدك، وأنا على عهدك ووعدك ما استعطت، أعوذ بك من شر ما صنعتُ، أبوءُ لك بنعمتك، وأبوء لك بذنبي فاغفر لي؛ فإنه لا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت". قال: " من قالها من النهار موقِناً بها، فمات من يومه قبل أن يمسي فهو من أهل الجنة، ومن قالها من الليل وهو موقن بها، فمات قبل أن يصبح فهو من أهل الجنة".
Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: The chief of supplications for seeking forgiveness is that a person says: «اللهم أنت ربي ، لا إله إلا أنت ، خلقتني وأنا عبدك ، وأنا على عهدك ووعدك ما استعطت ، أعوذ بك من شر ما صنعتُ ، أبوءُ لك بنعمتك ، وأبوء لك بذنبي فاغفر لي؛ فإنه لا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت» Whoever recites this supplication with certainty during the day and dies before evening, he will be among the people of Paradise; and whoever recites it at night with certainty and dies before morning, he will be among the people of Paradise.
Hadith 485
485/621 عن أبي بردة، سمعت الأغر- رجل من جهينة- يحدث عبد الله بن عمر قال: سمعت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: "توبوا إلى الله ؛ فإني أتوب إليه كل يوم مائة مرة".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Burdah (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard a man from Juhainah, Agharr, narrate from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Repent to Allah, for I myself repent to Allah a hundred times every day."
Hadith 486
486/622 عن كعب بن عجرة قال: " معقبات لا يخيب قائلهن(2): سبحان الله، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله والله أكبر مائة مرة". رفعه ابن أبي أنيسة(3) وعمرو بن قيس.
It is narrated from Ka'b bin 'Ujrah that he said: There are some words whose reciter is never unsuccessful. They are: «سبحان الله», «الحمدلله», «لا اله الا الله », «الله اكبر» one hundred times. This hadith has been narrated as marfu' by Ibn Abi Anisah and 'Amr bin Qais.
