The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "No." Upon this, the Ansar said: "You take care of the expenses for us and we will make you partners in the fruit." They said: (Very well) We have heard and we obey.

Hadith 438
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said during the year of famine, which was a year of severe drought, that Umar left no stone unturned in helping the villagers. He provided aid from camels, wheat, oil, and all kinds of produce. Until all the produce dried up due to the famine, at that time Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) began to supplicate: "O Allah! Produce their sustenance on the tops of the mountains (i.e., snow and clouds)." Allah accepted his and all the Muslims' supplication. When the rain fell, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Alhamdulillah! By Allah, if He had not removed this calamity, I would have seated the needy in every well-off Muslim household according to the number of family members, for the amount of food on which one person lives comfortably, two people can be saved from destruction.
