Hadith 298
Sayyiduna Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "Always remain steadfast upon truth, for indeed truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And indeed, a person continues to speak the truth until he is written with Allah as a truthful one (Siddiq). And always avoid lying, for indeed lying leads to wickedness (sins), and wickedness leads to Hell. A person continues to lie until he is written with Allah as a liar (Kadhdhab)."
