Hadith 274
274/357 (حسن) عن الأشعري [ وهو أبو موسى] قال: " إن من إجلال الله إكرام ذي الشيبة المسلم، وحامل القرآن، غير الغالي فيه، ولا الجافي عنه، وإكرام ذي السلطان المقسط".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: Part of honoring Allah is to show respect to an elderly Muslim with white hair, to honor a carrier of the Qur'an who neither exaggerates in it nor neglects it, and to honor a just ruler.
