Hadith 269
269/351 (صحيح) عن أبي ذر؛ قلتُ : يا رسول الله! الرجل يحب القوم ولا يستطيع أن يلحق بعملهم؟ قال: أنت يا أبا ذر! مع من أحببت". قلت: إني أحب الله ورسوله، قال: " أنت مع من أحببت، يا أبا ذر!".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I said: O Messenger of Allah! A person loves some people but it is not within his ability (through his actions) to reach their level. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O Abu Dharr! You will be with those whom you love." I said: I love Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: "O Abu Dharr! You will be with those whom you love."
Hadith 270
270/352 (صحيح) عن أنس ؛ أن رجلاً سأل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: يا نبي الله ! متى الساعة؟ فقال: " وما أعددت لها؟ ". قال: ما أعددت لها من كبير، إلا أني أحب الله ورسوله.فقال: " المرء مع من أحب". قال أنس: فما رأيت المسلمين فرحوا بعد الإسلام أشد مما فرحوا يومئذٍ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), saying: "O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What have you prepared for it?" He replied: "I have not prepared much for it, but I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A person will be with those whom he loves." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) states that after embracing Islam, I never saw the Muslims as happy about anything as they were on that day (because of this statement).
