Hadith 204
204/270م- (صحيح) عن أبي الدرداء، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " ما من شيء في الميزان أثقل من حسن الخلق".
Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "There is nothing heavier in the scale than good character."
Hadith 205
205/271(صحيح) – عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال: لم يكن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فاحشاً ولا متفحشاً، وكان يقول: "خياركم أحاسنكم أخلاقاً".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was neither indecent in speech nor did he speak indecently deliberately, and he (peace be upon him) used to say: "The best among you are those who have the best character."
Hadith 206
206/272(صحيح)- عن عمرو بن شعيب، عن أبيه، عن جده، أنه سمع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " أخبركم بأحبكم إلي، وأقربكم مني مجلساً يوم القيامة؟"، فسكت القوم، فأعادها مرتين أو ثلاثاً. قال القوم: نعم يا رسول الله ! قال: " أحسنكم خلقاً".
Amr bin Shu’aib narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “Shall I not tell you who among you is the dearest to me and who will be closest to me on the Day of Resurrection?” All the people remained silent. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this two or three times. The people said: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He said: “The one among you who has the best character.”
Hadith 207
207/273(صحيح)- عن أبي هريرة؛ أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إنما بعثت لأتمم صالح(1) الأخلاق ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been sent only to perfect good character."
Hadith 208
208/274(صحيح)- عن عائشة رضي الله عنها؛ أنها قالت: "ما خير رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بين أمرين إلا اختار أيسرهما؛ ما لم يكن إثماً، فإذا كان إثماً كان أبعد الناس منه، وما انتقم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لنفسه، إلا أن تُنتهك حرمة الله تعالى، فينتقم لله عز وجل بها".
Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): She said, whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was given a choice between two matters, he would choose the easier of the two, as long as it was not sinful. But if it was sinful, then he would be the farthest of all people from it. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) never took revenge for his own sake, except when one of the sanctities of Allah the Exalted was violated, then he would take revenge for the sake of Allah the Exalted.
Hadith 209
209/275 عن عبد الله (بن مسعود) قال: "إن الله تعالى قسم بينكم أخلاقكم، كما قسم بينكم أرزاقكم، وإن الله تعالى يُعطي المال من أحب ومن لا يُحب، ولا يعطي الإيمان إلا من يحب، فمن ضن بالمال أن ينفقه، وخاف العدو أن يجاهده، وهاب الليل أن يكابده، فليكثر من قول : لا إله إلا الله، وسبحان الله، والحمد لله، والله أكبر"(2).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Verily, Allah Almighty has distributed character among you just as He has distributed sustenance among you. And Allah gives wealth to those whom He loves and (also to) those whom He does not love. He has distributed character among you just as He has distributed your sustenance, and He gives faith only to those whom He loves. Whoever is miserly in spending wealth, fears to fight the enemy, and is afraid to endure the hardship of the night, then he should frequently recite these words: L «اَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ ، وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ، وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ» .
