Hadith 189
It is narrated from the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: I never saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) laugh so openly that I could see the uvula of his throat. He (ﷺ) would only smile. Whenever he (ﷺ) saw a dark cloud or a storm, the effects (of terror and fear) would be visible on his (ﷺ) face. And in another narration: When he (ﷺ) saw a cloud with thunder and rain, he would sometimes come inside, sometimes go outside, sometimes come, sometimes go, and his face would change. When it rained, this state of his would go away. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah! When people see a dark cloud, they become happy, hoping that it will rain, but when you see it, signs of displeasure appear on your face. So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "O Aisha! I am not secure from it, for there may be punishment in it. A people were punished with a wind, and another people saw a similar punishment. People used to say: This is a cloud that will bring us rain." And in another chain: "And I do not know, perhaps it is as Allah has said: When they saw it as a cloud advancing towards their valleys, they said: «هَذَاعَارِضٌمُمْطِرُنَا»."
