Hadith 163
163/221 عن قبيضة بن برمة الأسدي قال: كنت عند النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فسمعته يقول: " أهل المعروف في الدنيا، هم أهل المعروف في الآخرة(1)، وأهل المنكر في الدنيا هم أهل المنكر في الآخرة"(2).
Sayyiduna Qabeesah bin Barmah Asadi رضي الله عنه reports that I was present in the service of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم when I heard him say: "Those who do good in this world are the ones who will deserve good treatment in the Hereafter, and those who do evil in this world are the ones who will deserve evil treatment in the Hereafter."
Hadith 164
164/223 حدثنا معتمر قال: ذكرتُ لأبي حديث أبي عثمان، عن سلمان؛ أنه قال: " إن أهل المعروف في الدنيا، هم أهل المعروف في الآخرة" فقال: إني سمعتهُ من أبي عثمان يحدثه عن سلمان، فعرفت أن ذاك كذاك، فما حدثت به أحداً قط. ( وفي رواية عن أبي عثمان، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مثله).
Mu'tamir narrated to us, he says: I narrated to my father the hadith of Abu 'Uthman, who narrates from Salman, that he said: Those who do good in this world are the ones deserving of good treatment in the Hereafter. So he said: I heard this from Abu 'Uthman, and he used to narrate from Salman, so I realized that this is the same, and I have never narrated this hadith to anyone. And in another narration: It is narrated from Abu 'Uthman that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say the same as Mu'tamir has narrated.
