Hadith 162
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that it was asked of him, and in another narration, Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Which deed is the best among deeds?" And in another narration: "Which deed is the most virtuous among deeds?" He replied: "To have faith in Allah and to strive in His path." In another narration, it was asked: "Which slave is best to set free?" He replied: "The one whose price is highest and who is most valuable to his owners." I asked: "Tell me, if I am not able to do that?" He replied: "Help someone who is helpless (not skilled) or make something for someone who is unskilled." I asked: "Tell me, if I become too weak (to do even that)?" He replied: "Keep your harm away from people; this too is charity with which you give charity to your own self."
