Hadith 157
157/215 عن جابر بن عبد الله الأنصاري قال: قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: "من صنع إليه معروف فليجزئه، فإن لم يجزئه فليثن عليه؛ فإنه إذا أثنى عليه فقد شكره، وإن كتمه فقد كفره، ومن تحلى بما لم يعط، فكأنما لبس ثوبي زور".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari that he said: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever is treated kindly should repay it; if he cannot find anything with which to repay it, then he should praise him, for when he praises him, he has expressed gratitude to him. If he conceals his favor, he has shown ingratitude. And whoever describes himself with a quality that is not in him, it is as if he has put on two garments of falsehood."
Hadith 158
158/216 عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : " من استعاذ بالله فأعيذُوهُ(1) ومن سأل بالله فأعطوه، ومن أتى إليكم معروفاً فكافئوه، فإن لم تجدوا، فادعوا له، حتى يعلم أن قد كافأتموه".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever seeks refuge with Allah, grant him refuge; and whoever asks in the name of Allah, give to him; and whoever does good to you, repay him; and if you cannot find anything with which to repay him, then pray for him until you feel that you have repaid him."
