Sahih Adab al-Mufrad

55/75 From Rifa‘ah ibn Rafi‘; that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said to ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him: "Gather your people for me." So he gathered them, and when they arrived at the door of the Prophet, peace be upon him, ‘Umar entered upon him and said: I have gathered my people for you. The Ansar heard of this and said: Revelation has descended upon Quraysh, so those who wished to listen and observe what would be said to them came. The Prophet, peace be upon him, came out and stood among them and said: "Is there anyone among you who is not of you?" They said: Yes, among us is our ally, the son of our sister, and our freedmen. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Our ally is one of us, the son of our sister is one of us, and our freedmen are one of us. And you hear: Indeed, my friends among you are the righteous; if you are those, then so be it, otherwise beware lest people come on the Day of Resurrection with deeds, and you come with burdens, and He will turn away from you." Then he called out and said: "O people! – and he raised his hands and placed them on the heads of Quraysh – O people! Quraysh are people of trustworthiness; whoever seeks to harm them – (Zuhair said: I think he said: with misfortunes) – Allah will throw him down on his nose." He said this three times.
