Hadith 53
53/72 عن جبير بن مطعم أنه سمع عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه يقول على المنبر: "تعلموا أنسابكم، ثم صلوا أرحامكم، والله إنه ليكون بين الرجل وبين أخيه الشيء، ولو يعلم الذي بينه وبينه من داخلة الرحم، لأوزعه ذلك عن انتهاكه".
53/72 From Jubayr ibn Mut'im, who heard Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, say on the pulpit: "Learn your genealogies, then maintain your ties of kinship. By Allah, there may be something between a man and his brother, but if he knew what was between them of the bond of the womb, that would restrain him from violating it."
Hadith 54
54/73 - عن ابن عباس؛ أنه قال: " احفظوا أنسابكم، تصلوا أرحامكم؛ فإنه لا بعد بالرحم إذا قربت، وإن كانت بعيدة، ولا قرب بها إذا بعدت، وإن كانت قريبة، وكل رحم أتيه يوم القيامة أمام صاحبها، تشهد له بصلة؛ إن كان وصلها، وعليه بقطيعة؛ إن كان قطعها".
54/73 - From Ibn Abbas; he said: "Preserve your lineages, and you will maintain your ties of kinship; for there is no distance with kinship when it is maintained, even if it is far, and there is no closeness with it when it is severed, even if it is near. Every kinship will come on the Day of Resurrection before its owner, testifying for him if he maintained it, and against him if he severed it."
