Hadith 37
37/52 (صحيح) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: "أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! إِنَّ لِي قَرَابَةً أَصِلُهُمْ وَيَقْطَعُونَ، وَأُحْسِنُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَيُسِيئُونَ إِلَيَّ، وَيَجْهَلُونَ عَلَيَّ وَأَحْلُمُ عَنْهُمْ. قَالَ: "لَئِنْ كَانَ كَمَا تَقُولُ كَأَنَّمَا تُسِفُّهُمُ (1) الْمَلَّ، وَلَا يَزَالُ مَعَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ ظَهِيرٌ عَلَيْهِمْ مَا دُمْتَ على ذلك".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: A man came to the service of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have some relatives. I maintain ties with them, but they sever relations with me. I treat them well, but they treat me badly. They behave ignorantly (quarrel) with me, and I deal with them with patience and forbearance. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If it is as you say, then it is as if you are putting hot ashes into their mouths. And as long as you remain in this state, a helper from Allah against them will always be with you."
Hadith 38
38/53 (صحيح) عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ؛ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ، وَأَنَا خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ، وَاشْتَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنَ اسْمِي، فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ، ومن قطعها بتَتّه".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: "I am the Most Merciful (Rahman) and I have created the womb (rahm), and I have derived its name from My Name. Whoever joins it, I will join him, and whoever severs it, I will sever him."
Hadith 39
39/54 عن أبى العنبس قال: دخلت على عبد الله بن عمرو في الوهط- يعنى: أرضاً له بالطائف - فقال: عطف لنا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إصبعه فقال: "الرحم شجنة(2) من الرحمن، من يصلها يصله، ومن يقطعها يقطعه، لها لسان طلق(3) ذلق(4) يوم القيامة".
It is narrated from Abu Anbas, he states that I went to Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) at "Wahat", that is, the land he had in Taif. He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) bent his finger before us and said: "Kinship is a branch that has come from the Most Merciful. Whoever maintains it, (Allah) will maintain him, and whoever breaks it, He will break him. On the Day of Resurrection, it will have a tongue that will speak rapidly."
Hadith 40
40/55 عن عائشة رضي الله عنها؛ أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "الرحم شجنة من الله، من وصلها وصله الله، ومن قطعها قطعه الله".
Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The womb (rahm) is derived from the name of Allah. Whoever maintains its ties, Allah will maintain ties with him, and whoever severs it, Allah will sever ties with him."
