983/1302 (حسن الإسناد) عن زيد بن ثابت: أن عمر بن الخطاب جاءه يستأذن عليه يوماً، فأذن له ورأسه في يد جارية له ترجله، فنزع رأسه. فقال عمر: دعها ترجلك. فقال : يا أمير المؤمنين ! لو أرسلت إلي جئتك. فقال عمر: "إنما الحاجة لي".
983/1302 (Hasan al-Isnad) from Zayd ibn Thabit: That Umar ibn al-Khattab came to him one day seeking permission to enter, so he permitted him while his head was in the hand of a slave girl of his who was combing his hair, so he withdrew his head. Umar said: Let her comb your hair. He said: O Commander of the Faithful! If you had sent for me, I would have come to you. Umar said: "The need is mine."
