Sahih Adab al-Mufrad

865/1131 (Hasan al-isnad except for the addition, which is sahih al-isnad) from Abu al-Zinad that he took this letter from Kharija ibn Zayd and from the elders of the family of Zayd: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. To the servant of Allah; Muawiya, Commander of the Faithful, from Zayd ibn Thabit. Peace be upon you, Commander of the Faithful, and the mercy of Allah; I praise to you Allah, there is no god but He. To proceed: You ask me about the inheritance of the grandfather and the brothers… then he mentioned the letter(1). And we ask Allah for guidance, protection, and steadfastness in all our affairs, and we seek refuge in Allah from going astray, or being ignorant, or being burdened with what we have no knowledge of. And peace be upon you, Commander of the Faithful, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings and His forgiveness[وطيب صلواته/1001]."
