815/1063 (Authentic chain) From Ata’ who said: I asked Ibn Abbas, and said: “Should I seek permission before entering upon my sister?” He said: “Yes.” I repeated, and said: “Two sisters are under my care, and I provide for them and spend on them; should I seek permission before entering upon them?” He said: “Yes. Do you like to see them naked?! Then he recited: ?O you who have believed, let those whom your right hands possess seek permission of you…? up to: ?three times of privacy for you? [النور: 58] He said: They were only commanded to seek permission during these three times of privacy.” He said: ?And when the children among you reach puberty…? [النور: 59] Ibn Abbas said: “Then seeking permission is obligatory, [على الناس كلهم].”
