765/990- (صحيح) عن ابن مسعود قال: كانوا يصلون خلف النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال(1) القائل: السلام على الله، فلما قضى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم صلاته قال: " من القائل : السلام على الله؟ إن الله هو السلام، ولكن قولوا: التحيات لله والصلوات والطيبات، السلام عليك(2) أيها النبي ورحمة الله وبركاته، السلام علينا وعلى عباد الله الصالحين، أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله، وأشهد أن محمداً عبده ورسوله ". قال: وقد كانوا يتعلمونها كما يتعلم أحدكم السورة من القرآن.
765/990- (Sahih) From Ibn Mas'ud who said: They used to pray behind the Prophet, peace be upon him, and someone said: Peace be upon Allah. When the Prophet, peace be upon him, finished his prayer, he said: "Who said: Peace be upon Allah? Indeed, Allah is As-Salam (the Source of Peace), but say: All greetings, prayers, and good things are for Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger." He said: And they used to learn it as one of you learns a surah from the Qur'an.
