647/839 (صحيح) عن جابر بن عبد الله قال: وُلد الرجل منا من الأنصار غلام، وأراد أن يسميه محمداً( قال في رواية هنا: أن الأنصاري قال: حملته على عنقي، فأتيت به النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم )، (وفي أخرى : ولد له غلام، فأرادوا أن يسميه محمداً] قال: "تسموا باسمي، ولا تكنّوا بكنيتي؛ فإني إنما جعلت(وفي رواية ثالثة: بعثت) قاسماً، أقسم بينكم".
647/839 (Sahih) From Jabir ibn Abdullah who said: A man from among us, the Ansar, had a boy born to him, and he wanted to name him Muhammad. (In one narration here: The Ansari said: I carried him on my neck and brought him to the Prophet, peace be upon him.) (In another: A boy was born to him, and they wanted to name him Muhammad.) He said: "Name yourselves with my name, but do not use my kunya; for I have been made (in another narration: I have been sent as) a distributor, dividing among you."
