520/966 عن أبي هريرة، قال: "كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يتعوذ من جهد البلاء(6)، ودرك الشقاء(7)، وسوء القضاء، وشماتة الأعداء". قال سفيان: في الحديث ثلاث، زدتُ أنا واحدة، لا أدري أيتهن(8).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to seek refuge from the severity of trials, from falling into wretchedness, from the evil of fate’s decrees, and from the gloating of enemies. Sufyan said: Three things are mentioned in the hadith; I have added the fourth, but I do not know which one it is.
