478/611 عن أبي هريرة، قال: قدم الطفيل بن عمرو الدوسي على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: يا رسول الله! إن دوساً قدعصت وأبت، فادع الله عليها! فاستقبل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم القبلة ورفع يديه- فظن الناس أنه يدعو عليهم- فقال: "اللهم! اهدِ دوساً، وائت بهم".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyiduna Tufail bin Amr Dausi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! The tribe of Daus has disobeyed and refused (to accept Islam). Pray against them." Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) faced the Qiblah and raised his hands to pray. The people thought that he would pray against those people, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: «اللهم! اهدِ دوساً، وائت بهم» "O Allah! Guide the tribe of Daus and bring them to me."
