455/584 عن أشج عبد القيس قال: قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : "إن فيك لخلقين يحبهما الله" قلت: وما هما يا رسول الله؟ قال: "الحلم، والحياء"، قلت: قديماً أو حديثاً؟ قال: "قديماً". قلتُ : الحمد لله الذي جبلني على خلقين أحبهما الله.
It is narrated from Ashajj ‘Abdul Qais that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: “You have two qualities which Allah loves.” I asked: O Messenger of Allah! What are they? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Forbearance and modesty.” I asked: Are these qualities old or new in me? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “They are old.” I said: All praise is due to Allah, Who created me with two qualities which Allah loves.
