Hadith 36

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, created the creation and finished with it, the bond of kinship stood up." Allah said: "What is the matter?" It said: "This is the place of one who seeks refuge with You from being cut off." Allah said: "Are you not pleased that I will keep ties with the one who keeps ties with you, and I will cut off the one who cuts you off?" The bond of kinship said: "Yes, O my Lord! I am pleased." He said: "This is for you." Then Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If you wish, recite this verse: «‏فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ» "Then, would you perhaps, if you turned away, cause corruption on earth and sever your ties of kinship?"
