251/330 (صحيح) عن أبي جبيرة بن الضحاك قال: فينا نزلت- في بني سلمة- ? ولا تنابزوا بالألقاب? [الحجرات: 11] قال: قَدِمَ علينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وليس منا رجل إلا له اسمان، فجعل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: "يا فلان!" فيقولون: يارسول الله! إنه يغضب منه(7).
It is narrated from Abu Jubairah bin Dihhak, he said: These verses were revealed about us, the Banu Salamah: «ولا تنابزوا بالألقاب» [الحجرات: ۱۱] "And do not call each other by offensive nicknames." He said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to us, there was not a single person among us who did not have two names (one real and one distorted). So the Prophet (peace be upon him) began to say: "O so-and-so!" Then the people would say: O Messenger of Allah! He gets upset by that. (Because that is his distorted name, and that is the name you know him by.)
