Sahih Adab al-Mufrad

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sulaiman Malik bin Huwairith (may Allah be pleased with him), he stated that we came to serve the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in a state that we were young and of similar age. We stayed with him for twenty days. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) realized that we had become homesick for our families. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked us: "Which (relatives) have we left behind among our families?" We informed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was very kind-hearted and compassionate. He said: "Alright, return to your families. Teach them and instruct them. And perform the prayer as you have seen me performing the prayer. When the time for prayer comes, let one of you give the call to prayer (adhan), and let the eldest among you lead the congregation."
