باب العبد راعThe servant is a shepherd
Hadith 151

151/206 عن ابن عمر ؛ أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "[ألا] كلكم راع، وكلكم مسؤول عن رعيته؛ فالأمير الذي(1) على الناس راع، وهو مسؤول عن رعيته، والرجل راع على أهل بيته، وهو مسؤول عن رعيته، وعبد الرجل [ وفي طريق: والخادم/214] راعٍ على مال سيده، وهو مسؤول عنه، [والمرأة راعية في بيت زوجها]، [وهي مسؤولة]، [ سمعت هؤلاء عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، وأحسب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: – "والرجل في مال أبيه"]، ألا كلكم راعٍ، وكلكم مسؤول عن رعيته".
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware! Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you will be questioned about his flock. The leader who is appointed over the people is a shepherd and will be questioned about his flock. A man is a shepherd over the members of his household and will be questioned about his flock. A man's slave—and in another narration, his servant—is a shepherd over his master's wealth and will be questioned about it. And a woman is a shepherd over her husband's house and will be questioned about it." I heard all these things from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I think the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "And a man is a shepherd over his father's wealth. Beware! All of you are shepherds, and all of you will be questioned about your flock."
