Khalid Absi says, I had a son who passed away. I was greatly grieved by his loss, so I said to Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): What have you heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) by which we can comfort our hearts over the sorrow of our deceased? He said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Your little children are the «دعاميص» of Paradise." Explanation of da‘amis: Ibn Kathir says: «دعاميص» is originally the plural of «دعموص». It is said about an insect that is found in stagnant water. Similarly, « دعموص» is also said for anyone who enters any place, meaning these children will roam freely in Paradise, will enter homes, and will not be forbidden from going anywhere.
