Hadith 85
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمُ : اسْقِ رَبَّكَ أَوْ أَطْعِمْ رَبَّكَ وَضِّئْ رَبَّكَ وَلا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ : رَبِّي، وَلْيَقُلْ : سَيِّدِي وَمَوْلايَ، وَلا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ : عَبْدِي، أَمَتِي، وَلْيَقُلْ : فَتَايَ، فَتَاتِي غُلامِي "
And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "None of you should say: 'Give drink to your "Rabb" (lord/master), feed your "Rabb", or give ablution to your "Rabb",' and no one should call (his master) 'my Rabb', but rather he should call (his master) 'Sayyidi wa Mawlaya'—my chief, my master. It is not proper for anyone to say 'Abdi'—my slave, or 'Amati'—my female slave, rather he should say: 'Ghulami'—my servant, my maidservant, my slave."
