Generosity of the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 83
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ، لَوْ أَنَّ عِنْدِي أُحُدًا ذَهَبًا، لأَحْبَبْتُ أَلا يَأْتِيَ عَلَيَّ ثَلاثُ لَيَالٍ وَعِنْدِي مِنْهُ دِينَارٌ أَجِدُ مَنْ يَتَقَبَّلُهُ مِنِّي لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ أَرْصُدُهُ فِي دَيْنٍ عَلَيَّ "
And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him! If I had gold equal to the mountain of Uhud, I would like that not three nights pass before I give it away, and that I do not leave with myself even a single dinar, except that I keep something to pay off a debt."
