Debate Between Adam and Moses (peace be upon them)
Hadith 46
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَحَاجَّ آدَمُ وَمُوسَى، فَقَالَ لَهُ مُوسَى : أَنْتَ آدَمُ الَّذِي أَغْوَيْتَ النَّاسَ فَأَخْرَجْتَهُمْ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ آدَمُ : أَنْتَ مُوسَى الَّذِي أَعْطَاهُ اللَّهُ عِلْمَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، وَاصْطَفَاهُ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالَتِهِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ، قَالَ : أَتَلُومُنِي عَلَى أَمْرٍ قَدْ كُتِبَ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَفْعَلَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ أُخْلَقَ، فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى "
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Once there was a dispute between Adam and Musa, peace be upon them. Musa, peace be upon him, said: Are you the Adam who led people astray and caused them to be expelled from Paradise and sent down to the earth? Adam, peace be upon him, said: Are you the Musa whom Allah granted knowledge of everything and, due to prophethood, gave superiority over other people? Musa, peace be upon him, replied: Yes! (I am he). Upon this, Adam, peace be upon him, said: Do you blame me for an act which Allah had written for me to do before my creation? In this way, Adam, peace be upon him, silenced Musa, peace be upon him."
