Spoils of War Were Not Permitted for Previous Nations
Hadith 88
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَمْ تَحِلَّ الْغَنَائِمُ لِمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا، ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ رَأَى ضَعْفَنَا وَعَجْزَنَا فَطَيَّبَهَا لَنَا "
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The spoils of war were not permissible for the nations before us, but Allah, seeing our weakness and helplessness, made this wealth lawful and pure for us."
