قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَثَلُ الْبَخِيلِ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقِ، كَمَثَلِ رَجُلَيْنِ عَلَيْهِمَا جُبَّتَانِ أَوْ جُنَّتَانِ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ إِلَى ثَدْيَيْهِمَا أَوْ إِلَى تَرَاقِيهِمَا، فَجَعَلَ الْمُتَصَدِّقُ كُلَّمَا تَصَدَّقَ بِشَيْءٍ ذَهَبَتْ عَنْ جِلْدِهِ حَتَّى تُجِنَّ بَنَانَهُ وَيَعْفُوَ أَثَرُهُ، وَجَعَلَ الْبَخِيلُ كُلَّمَا أَنْفَقَ شَيْئًا أَوْ حَدَّثَ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ، عَضَّتْ كُلُّ حَلْقَةٍ مَكَانَهَا فَيُوَسِّعُهَا وَلا تَتَّسِعُ "
And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The example of the miser and the one who gives charity is like two persons who are wearing two iron coats of mail or two armors, which reach up to their chests or collarbones. When the one who gives charity gives something in charity, it moves away from his body, and it covers his fingers, and (while walking) the mark of his feet disappears. And whenever the miser spends something or even intends in his heart to spend, every ring of that coat or armor tightens in its place. The miser tries to loosen it, but he cannot loosen it."
