قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمُ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي إِنْ شِئْتَ، أَوِ ارْحَمْنِي إِنْ شِئْتَ، أَوِ ارْزُقْنِي إِنْ شِئْتَ، لِيَعْزِمِ الْمَسْأَلَةَ، إِنَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاءُ لا مُكْرِهَ لَهُ "
And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "None of you should supplicate in this manner: 'O Allah! If You will, forgive me; if You will, have mercy on me; or if You will, provide for me.' Rather, he should ask with full certainty, for Allah does whatever He wills, and there is none to compel Him."
