And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah became extremely angry with the people who did this to His Messenger," while at that time the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was pointing towards his four blessed front teeth (which had been martyred).

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle (pointing to his broken canine tooth) said, "Allah's Wrath has become severe on the people who harmed His Prophet. Allah's Wrath has become severe on the man who is killed by the Apostle of Allah in Allah's Cause."

Hadith Commentary: ➊ The "rabā‘ī" are the teeth that are on the right and left sides of the two front teeth, and every person has four rabā‘ī teeth. ➋ Along with the lower rabā‘ī tooth on the right side of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), his lower lip was also wounded. In the Battle of Uhud, ‘Utbah bin Abī Waqqās (radi Allahu anhu) struck the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) with a stone, which affected the lower rabā‘ī tooth on the right side. Sa‘d bin Abī Waqqās (radi Allahu anhu) says that he never had such eagerness to kill anyone as he had to kill his real brother ‘Utbah bin Abī Waqqās, because he had wounded the front two teeth of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). It has been narrated by Hammam bin Munabbih who said: This is what has been related to us by Abu Hurairah (RA) from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) . (With this introduction) he narrated a number of traditions. One of these was that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Great is the wrath of Allah upon a people who have done this to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) , and he was at that time pointing to his front teeth. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) also said: Great is the wrath of Allah upon a person who has been killed by the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in the way of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious.

Hadith Commentary:Benefits and Issues: From this hadith, it is understood that to trouble the close servants of Allah Ta'ala is to invite the wrath and anger of Allah Ta'ala, and the one against whom they are compelled to raise their hands is extremely wretched.
