Hadith 2780
2 وقَالَ لِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : " خَرَجَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي سَهْمٍ مَعَ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ ، وَعَدِيِّ بْنِ بَدَّاءٍ ، فَمَاتَ السَّهْمِيُّ بِأَرْضٍ لَيْسَ بِهَا مُسْلِمٌ ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَا بِتَرِكَتِهِ فَقَدُوا جَامًا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ مُخَوَّصًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، فَأَحْلَفَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ وُجِدَ الْجَامُ بِمَكَّةَ ، فَقَالُوا : ابْتَعْنَاهُ مِنْ تَمِيمٍ ، وَعَدِيٍّ ، فَقَامَ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِهِ ، فَحَلَفَا لَشَهَادَتُنَا أَحَقُّ مِنْ شَهَادَتِهِمَا ، وَإِنَّ الْجَامَ لِصَاحِبِهِمْ ، قَالَ : وَفِيهِمْ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا شَهَادَةُ بَيْنِكُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ سورة المائدة آية 106 " .
Ibn 'Abbas (ra) said, "A man from the tribe of Bani Sahm went out in the company of Tamim Ad-Dari and 'Adi bin Badda'. The man of Bani Sahm died in a land where there was no Muslim. When Tamim and 'Adi returned conveying the property of the deceased, they claimed that they had lost a silver bowl with gold engraving. Allah's Messenger (saws) made them take an oath (to confirm their claim), and then the bowl was found in Makkah with some people who claimed that they had bought it from Tamim and 'Adu, Then two witnesses from the relatives of the deceased got up and swore that their witnesses were more valid than the witnesses of 'Adi and Tamim, and that the bowl belonged to their deceased fellow. So, this verse was revealed in connection with this case ; 'O you who believe! When death approached any of you ...'," (V 5:106)
Hadith 3022
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّاءَ بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : " بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَهْطًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ إِلَى أَبِي رَافِعٍ لِيَقْتُلُوهُ فَانْطَلَقَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ فَدَخَلَ حِصْنَهُمْ ، قَالَ : فَدَخَلْتُ فِي مَرْبِطِ دَوَابَّ لَهُمْ ، قَالَ : وَأَغْلَقُوا بَابَ الْحِصْنِ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ فَقَدُوا حِمَارًا لَهُمْ فَخَرَجُوا يَطْلُبُونَهُ ، فَخَرَجْتُ فِيمَنْ خَرَجَ أُرِيهِمْ أَنَّنِي أَطْلُبُهُ مَعَهُمْ ، فَوَجَدُوا الْحِمَارَ فَدَخَلُوا وَدَخَلْتُ وَأَغْلَقُوا بَابَ الْحِصْنِ لَيْلًا ، فَوَضَعُوا الْمَفَاتِيحَ فِي كَوَّةٍ حَيْثُ أَرَاهَا فَلَمَّا نَامُوا أَخَذْتُ الْمَفَاتِيحَ فَفَتَحْتُ بَابَ الْحِصْنِ ، ثُمَّ دَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا رَافِعٍ فَأَجَابَنِي فَتَعَمَّدْتُ الصَّوْتَ فَضَرَبْتُهُ ، فَصَاحَ ، فَخَرَجْتُ ، ثُمَّ جِئْتُ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ كَأَنِّي مُغِيثٌ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا رَافِعٍ وَغَيَّرْتُ صَوْتِي ، فَقَالَ : مَا لَكَ لِأُمِّكَ الْوَيْلُ ، قُلْتُ : مَا شَأْنُكَ ، قَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ فَضَرَبَنِي ، قَالَ : فَوَضَعْتُ سَيْفِي فِي بَطْنِهِ ، ثُمَّ تَحَامَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى قَرَعَ الْعَظْمَ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجْتُ وَأَنَا دَهِشٌ فَأَتَيْتُ سُلَّمًا لَهُمْ لِأَنْزِلَ مِنْهُ فَوَقَعْتُ ، فَوُثِئَتْ رِجْلِي ، فَخَرَجْتُ إِلَى أَصْحَابِي ، فَقُلْتُ : مَا أَنَا بِبَارِحٍ حَتَّى أَسْمَعَ النَّاعِيَةَ ، فَمَا بَرِحْتُ حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ نَعَايَا أَبِي رَافِعٍ تَاجِرِ أَهْلِ الْحِجَازِ ، قَالَ : فَقُمْتُ وَمَا بِي قَلَبَةٌ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرْنَاهُ " .
Narrated Al-Bara bin Azib: Allah's Apostle sent a group of Ansari men to kill Abu-Rafi`. One of them set out and entered their (i.e. the enemies) fort. That man said, "I hid myself in a stable for their animals. They closed the fort gate. Later they lost a donkey of theirs, so they went out in its search. I, too, went out along with them, pretending to look for it. They found the donkey and entered their fort. And I, too, entered along with them. They closed the gate of the fort at night, and kept its keys in a small window where I could see them. When those people slept, I took the keys and opened the gate of the fort and came upon Abu Rafi` and said, 'O Abu Rafi`. When he replied me, I proceeded towards the voice and hit him. He shouted and I came out to come back, pretending to be a helper. I said, 'O Abu Rafi`, changing the tone of my voice. He asked me, 'What do you want; woe to your mother?' I asked him, 'What has happened to you?' He said, 'I don't know who came to me and hit me.' Then I drove my sword into his belly and pushed it forcibly till it touched the bone. Then I came out, filled with puzzlement and went towards a ladder of theirs in order to get down but I fell down and sprained my foot. I came to my companions and said, 'I will not leave till I hear the wailing of the women.' So, I did not leave till I heard the women bewailing Abu Rafi`, the merchant pf Hijaz. Then I got up, feeling no ailment, (and we proceeded) till we came upon the Prophet and informed him."
Hadith 3023
حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : " بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَهْطًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ إِلَى أَبِي رَافِعٍ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَتِيكٍ بَيْتَهُ لَيْلًا ، فَقَتَلَهُ وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ " .
Narrated Al-Bara bin Azib: Allah's Apostle sent a group of the Ansar to Abu Rafi`. `Abdullah bin Atik entered his house at night and killed him while he was sleeping.
Hadith 3727
حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ هَاشِمِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، يَقُولُ : مَا أَسْلَمَ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي أَسْلَمْتُ فِيهِ وَلَقَدْ مَكَثْتُ سَبْعَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَإِنِّي لَثُلُثُ الْإِسْلَامِ " . تَابَعَهُ أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ,حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ .
Narrated Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas: No man embraced Islam before the day on which I embraced Islam, and no doubt, I remained for seven days as one third of the then extant Muslims.
Hadith 4038
حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : " بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَهْطًا إِلَى أَبِي رَافِعٍ , فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَتِيكٍ بَيْتَهُ لَيْلًا وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ فَقَتَلَهُ " .
Narrated Al-Bara bin Azib: Allah's Apostle sent a group of persons to Abu Rafi`. `Abdullah bin Atik entered his house at night, while he was sleeping, and killed him.
Hadith 4226
حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَاصِمٌ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : " أَمَرَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةِ خَيْبَرَ أَنْ نُلْقِيَ الْحُمُرَ الْأَهْلِيَّةَ نِيئَةً وَنَضِيجَةً ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْمُرْنَا بِأَكْلِهِ بَعْدُ " .
Narrated Al-Bara Bin Azib: During the Ghazwa of Khaibar, the Prophet ordered us to throw away the meat of the donkeys whether it was still raw or cooked. He did not allow us to eat it later on.
Hadith 4384
حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " قَدِمْتُ أَنَا وَأَخِي مِنْ الْيَمَنِ فَمَكَثْنَا حِينًا مَا نُرَى ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ وَأُمَّهُ إِلَّا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ دُخُولِهِمْ وَلُزُومِهِمْ لَهُ " .
Narrated Abu Musa: My brother and I came from Yemen (to Medina) and remained for some time, thinking that Ibn Masud and his mother belonged to the family of the Prophet because of their frequent entrance (upon the Prophet) and their being attached to him.
Hadith 4902
حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيَّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ : لَا تُنْفِقُوا عَلَى مَنْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ، وَقَالَ أَيْضًا : لَئِنْ رَجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ أَخْبَرْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَامَنِي الْأَنْصَارُ ، وَحَلَفَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ مَا قَالَ ذَلِكَ ، فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى الْمَنْزِلِ ، فَنِمْتُ ، فَدَعَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَتَيْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ صَدَّقَكَ وَنَزَلَهُمُ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لا تُنْفِقُوا سورة المنافقون آية 7 " الْآيَةَ ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Narrated Zaid bin Arqam: When `Abdullah bin Ubai said, "Do not spend on those who are with Allah's Messenger ," and also said, "If we return to Medina," I informed the Prophet of his saying. The Ansar blamed me for that, and `Abdullah bin Ubai swore that he did not say. I returned to my house and slept. Allah's Messenger then called me and I went to him. He said, "Allah has confirmed your statement." The Verse: "They are the one who say: Spend nothing......(63.7) was revealed.
