Hadith 627
And it was narrated to us by Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and Zuhayr ibn Harb, who said: Waki‘ narrated to us, from Shu‘bah, from al-Hakam, from Yahya ibn al-Jazzar, from ‘Ali. And it was narrated to us by ‘Ubaydullah ibn Mu‘adh, and the wording is his, who said: My father narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from al-Hakam, from Yahya, who heard ‘Ali say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said on the Day of al-Ahzab, while he was sitting on a part of the trench: "They have distracted us from the middle prayer until the sun set. May Allah fill their graves and their houses—or he said: their graves and their bellies—with fire."
Hadith 2799
Ubayy bin Ka'b reported that the words of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious: "We will, surely, make them taste the lesser punishment before the severer punishment (that they may return)" (xxxii. 21) imply the torments of the world. (victory of) Rome, seizing (of the Makkahns), or smoke. And Shalba was in doubt about seizing or smoke.
