Hadith 100
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ صَالِحُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنُ بَكْرِ بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرُ سَيِّدَا كُهُولِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ، وَالْآخِرِينَ ، إِلَّا النَّبِيِّينَ ، وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ " .
´It was narrated from 'Awn bin Abi Juhaifah that his father said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Abu Bakr and 'Umar are the leaders of the mature people of Paradise, the first and the last, except for the Prophets and the Messengers.'"
Hadith 207
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ سَنَّ سُنَّةً حَسَنَةً فَعُمِلَ بِهَا بَعْدَهُ ، كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُهَا ، وَمِثْلُ أُجُورِهِمْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَنْقُصَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْئًا ، وَمَنْ سَنَّ سُنَّةً سَيِّئَةً فَعُمِلَ بِهَا بَعْدَهُ ، كَانَ عَلَيْهِ وِزْرُهُ ، وَمِثْلُ أَوْزَارِهِمْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَنْقُصَ مِنْ أَوْزَارِهِمْ شَيْئًا " .
´It was narrated that Abu Juhaifah said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever introduces a good practice that is followed after him, will have a reward for that and the equivalent of their reward, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest. Whoever introduces an evil practice that is followed after him, will bear the burden of sin for that and the equivalent of their burden of sin, without that detracting from their burden in the slightest.'"
Hadith 297
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ بَشِيرِ بْنِ سَلْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَلَّادٌ الصَّفَّارُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ النَّصَرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سِتْرُ مَا بَيْنَ الْجِنِّ وَعَوْرَاتِ بَنِي آدَمَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْكَنِيفَ ، أَنْ يَقُولَ : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Ali said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'The screen between the Jinn and the nakedness of the sons of Adam is that when a person enters the Kanif, he should say: Bismillah (in the name of Allah).'"
Hadith 711
حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَاشِمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ حَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْأَبْطَحِ ، وَهُوَ فِي قُبَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ ، فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ فَأَذَّنَ ، فَاسْتَدَارَ فِي أَذَانِهِ ، وَجَعَلَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Awn bin Abu Juhaifah that his father said:` "I came to the Messenger of Allah in Abtah, when he was in a red tent. Bilal came out and gave the call to prayer, turning around and putting his fingers in his ears."
Hadith 879
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُوسَى السُّدِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ ، يَقُولُ : ذُكِرَتِ الْجُدُودُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَالَ : رَجُلٌ جَدُّ فُلَانٍ فِي الْخَيْلِ ، وَقَالَ آخَرُ : جَدُّ فُلَانٍ فِي الْإِبِلِ ، وَقَالَ آخَرُ : جَدُّ فُلَانٍ فِي الْغَنَمِ ، وَقَالَ آخَرُ : جَدُّ فُلَانٍ فِي الرَّقِيقِ ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاتَهُ وَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ آخِرِ الرَّكْعَةِ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ ، مِلْءَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَمِلْءَ الْأَرْضِ ، وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ بَعْدُ ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ ، وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ ، وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ ، وَطَوَّلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَوْتَهُ بِالْجَدِّ لِيَعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ كَمَا يَقُولُونَ " .
´It was narrated that Abu ‘Umar said:` “I heard Abu Juhaifah say: Good fortune was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) while he was performing prayer. A man said: ‘so-and-so’s fortune is in horses.’ Another man said: ‘So-and-so’s fortune is in camels.’ Another man said: ‘So-and-so’s fortune is in sheep.’ Another man said: ‘So- and-so’s fortune is in slaves.’ While the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was finishing his prayer, he raised his head at the end of the last Rak’ah and said: ‘Allahumma Rabbana lakal-hamd mil’ as-samawati wa mil’ al- ard wa mil’ ma shi’ta min shai’in ba’du. Allahumma la mani’ lima a’taita wa la mu’ti lima mana’ta, wa la yanfa’u dhal-jaddi minkal-jadd (Allah hears those who praise Him. O Allah! O our Lord! To You is the praise as much as fills the heavens, as much as fills the earth and as much as You will after that. O Allah, there is none who can withhold what You give, and none who can give what You withhold, and the good fortune of any fortunate person is to no avail against You).’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) elongated the word Jadd (fortune) so that they would know that it was not as they had said.”
Hadith 2604
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَمَّالُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَصَابَ فِي الدُّنْيَا ذَنْبًا فَعُوقِبَ بِهِ ، فَاللَّهُ أَعْدَلُ مِنْ أَنْ يُثَنِّيَ عُقُوبَتَهُ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ ، وَمَنْ أَذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا فِي الدُّنْيَا فَسَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَاللَّهُ أَكْرَمُ مِنْ أَنْ يَعُودَ فِي شَيْءٍ قَدْ عَفَا عَنْهُ " .
´It was narrated from Ali that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever commits a sin in this world and is punished for it, Allah (STW) is too just to repeat the punishment for his slave (in the hereafter). And whoever commits a sin in this world and Allah conceals him, Allah is too generous to go back to something that He has pardoned.”
Hadith 2658
حَدَّثَنَا عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدَّارِمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ لَيْسَ عِنْدَ النَّاسِ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا ، وَاللَّهِ مَا عِنْدَنَا إِلَّا مَا عِنْدَ النَّاسِ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَرْزُقَ اللَّهُ رَجُلًا فَهْمًا فِي الْقُرْآنِ ، أَوْ مَا فِي هَذِهِ الصَّحِيفَةِ فِيهَا الدِّيَاتُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَنْ لَا يُقْتَلَ مُسْلِمٌ بِكَافِرٍ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Juhaifah said:` “I said to 'Ali bin Abu Talib: 'Do you have any knowledge that the people do not have?' He said: 'No, by Allah, we only know what the people know, except that Allah may bless a man with understanding of Qur'an or what is in this sheet, in which are mentioned the rulings on blood money from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and it says that a Muslim should not be killed in retaliation for the murder of disbeliever.'”
Hadith 3262
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَقْمَرِ ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا آكُلُ مُتَّكِئًا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Juhaifah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “I do not eat while reclining.”
Hadith 3628
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ , حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ , عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق , عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ , قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ مِنْهُ بَيْضَاءُ " , يَعْنِي عَنْفَقَتَهُ .
´It was narrated that Abu Juhaifah said:` “I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and this part of his hair was white” – meaning the tuft of hair between the lower lip and the chin.
Hadith 3904
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى , حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ صَالِحٍ اللَّخْمِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ , عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ رَآنِي فِي الْمَنَامِ , فَكَأَنَّمَا رَآنِي فِي الْيَقَظَةِ , إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَتَمَثَّلَ بِي " .
´It was narrated from ‘Awn bin Abu Juhaifah, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever sees me in a dream, it is as if he has seen me when he is awake, for Satan is not able to resemble me.”
