Hadith 22
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ مَالِكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ ، حَتَّى يَشْهَدُوا أَنْ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ ، وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ ، فَإِذَا فَعَلُوا ، عَصَمُوا مِنِّي ، دِمَاءَهُمْ ، وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا ، وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ " .
It is narrated on the authority of Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: I have been commanded that I should fight against people till they declare that there is no god but Allah, and when they profess it that there is no god but Allah, their blood and riches are guaranteed protection on my behalf except where it is justified by law, and their affairs rest with Allah, and then he (the Holy Prophet) recited (this verse of the Holy Qur'an):" Thou art not over them a warden" (lxxxviii, 22).
Hadith 66
وحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ .
'Abdullah bin Mu'adh narrated from the Apostle (ﷺ) (may peace and blessings be upon him) a hadith like this on the authority on Ibn 'Umar (RA) .
Hadith 66
وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ : " وَيْحَكُمْ ، أَوَ قَالَ : وَيْلَكُمْ ، لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ " .
It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA) that the Apostle (ﷺ) (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage Woe unto you distress unto you! Don't turn back as unbelievers after me by striking the necks of one another.
Hadith 1509
وحَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعُمَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَاقِدٌ يَعْنِي أَخَاهُ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ ابْنُ مَرْجَانَةَ صَاحِبُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَيُّمَا امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ أَعْتَقَ امْرَأً مُسْلِمًا ، اسْتَنْقَذَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهُ عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " ، قَالَ : فَانْطَلَقْتُ حِينَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، فَأَعْتَقَ عَبْدًا لَهُ قَدْ أَعْطَاهُ بِهِ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَشْرَةَ آلَافِ دِرْهَمٍ ، أَوْ أَلْفَ دِينَارٍ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: A Muslim who emancipates a Muslim (slave), Allah will save from Fire every limb of his for every limb (of the slave). Sa'id bin Marjana said: When I heard this hadith from Abu Hurairah (RA) , I went away and made a mention of it to 'Ali bin Husain and he at once emancipated the slave for which Ibn ja'far was prepared to pay ten thousand dirhams or one thousand dinars.
Hadith 2060
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ نَافِعًا ، قَالَ : رَأَى ابْنُ عُمَرَ مِسْكِينًا ، فَجَعَلَ يَضَعُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَيَضَعُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، قَالَ : فَجَعَلَ يَأْكُلُ أَكْلًا كَثِيرًا ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : لَا يُدْخَلَنَّ هَذَا عَلَيَّ ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ الْكَافِرَ يَأْكُلُ فِي سَبْعَةِ أَمْعَاءٍ " .
Nafi' reported that Ibn 'Umar saw a poor man. He placed food before him and he ate much. He (Ibn 'Umar) said: He should not come to me for I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying that the non-Muslim eats in seven intestines.
