Hadith 530
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْهُذَلِيِّ ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى هُوَ عِنْدَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ الْهُذَلِيُّ ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي ، وَمُحَمَّدًا ، وَلَا تُشْرِكْ فِي رَحْمَتِكَ إِيَّانَا أَحَدًا ، فَقَالَ : " لَقَدْ حَظَرْتَ وَاسِعًا وَيْحَكَ ، أَوْ وَيْلَكَ " ، قَالَ : فَشَجَ يَبُولُ ، فَقَالَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَهْ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَعُوهُ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِسَجْلٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated that Wathilah bin Asqa' said:` "A Bedouin came to the Prophet and said: 'O Allah, have mercy on me and Muhammed, and do not allow anyone else to share in your Mercy.' The Prophet said: 'You have placed restrictions on something that is vast, woe to you!' Then he (the Bedouin) spread his legs and urinated, and the Companions of the Prophet told him to stop, but the Messenger of Allah said: 'Let him be,' then he called for a vessel of water and poured it over (the urine)."
Hadith 750
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ نَبْهَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ يَقْظَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " جَنِّبُوا مَسَاجِدَكُمْ صِبْيَانَكُمْ ، وَمَجَانِينَكُمْ ، وَشِرَاءَكُمْ ، وَبَيْعَكُمْ ، وَخُصُومَاتِكُمْ ، وَرَفْعَ أَصْوَاتِكُمْ ، وَإِقَامَةَ حُدُودِكُمْ ، وَسَلَّ سُيُوفِكُمْ ، وَاتَّخِذُوا عَلَى أَبْوَابِهَا الْمَطَاهِرَ ، وَجَمِّرُوهَا فِي الْجُمَعِ " .
´It was narrated from Wathilah bin Asqa' that:` The Prophet said: "Keep your infants, your insane and your evil ones away from your mosques. Avoid engaging in transactions and disputes, raising your voices, carrying out your prescribed punishments and unsheathing your swords therein. Make places for purification at their gates, and perfume them with incense on Fridays." (Maudu')
Hadith 1499
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ جَنَاحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، فَأَسْمَعُهُ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ فِي ذِمَّتِكَ وَحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ ، فَقِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ ، وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ ، وَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَالْحَقِّ ، فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ " .
´It was narrated that Wathilah bin Asqa’ said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offered the funeral prayer for a man among the Muslims and I heard him say: ‘O Allah, so-and-so the son of so-and-so is in Your case and under Your protection. Protect him from the trial of the grave and the torment of the Fire, for You are the One Who keeps the promise and You are the Truth. Forgive him and have mercy on him, for You are the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
Hadith 1525
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ نَبْهَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ يَقْظَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلُّوا عَلَى كُلِّ مَيِّتٍ ، وَجَاهِدُوا مَعَ كُلِّ أَمِيرٍ " .
´It was narrated from Wathilah bin Asqa’ that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` ‘Offer prayer for everyone who dies, and strive in Jihad under every chief.”
Hadith 2247
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ الضَّحَّاكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، وَسُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ بَاعَ عَيْبًا لَمْ يُبَيِّنْهُ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي مَقْتِ مِنَ اللَّهِ ، وَلَمْ تَزَلِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تَلْعَنُهُ " .
´It was narrated that Wathilah bin Asqa' said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Whoever sells defective goods without pointing it out, he will remain subject to the wrath of Allah, and the angels will continue to curse him.'"
Hadith 2742
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ رُؤْبَةَ التَّغْلِبِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ النَّصْرِيِّ ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْمَرْأَةُ تَحُوزُ ثَلَاثَ مَوَارِيثَ عَتِيقِهَا وَلَقِيطِهَا وَوَلَدِهَا الَّذِي لَاعَنَتْ عَلَيْهِ "قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ : مَا رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ غَيْرُ هِشَامٍ .
´It was narrated from Wathilah bin Asqa’ that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “A woman may get three types of inheritance: From her freed slave woman, a foundling whom she raised, and her child concerning whom she swore in Li’an that he was legitimate.”
Hadith 3276
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ عُمَرُ بْنُ الدَّرَفْسِ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي قَسِيمَةَ ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ اللَّيْثِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَأْسِ الثَّرِيدِ , فَقَالَ : " كُلُوا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ مِنْ حَوَالَيْهَا ، وَاعْفُوا رَأْسَهَا فَإِنَّ الْبَرَكَةَ تَأْتِيهَا مِنْ فَوْقِهَا " .
´It was narrated that Wathilah bin Asqa’ Al-Laithi said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took hold of the top of the Tharid and said: ‘Eat in the Name of Allah from its sides and leave the top, for the blessing comes from its top.’”
Hadith 3949
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ الْيُحْمِدِيُّ , عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ الشَّامِيِّ , عَنْ امْرَأَة مِنْهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهَا : فُسَيْلَةُ , قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي , يَقُولُ , سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , أَمِنَ الْعَصَبِيَّةِ أَنْ يُحِبَّ الرَّجُلُ قَوْمَهُ , قَالَ : " لَا , وَلَكِنْ مِنَ الْعَصَبِيَّةِ أَنْ يُعِينَ الرَّجُلُ قَوْمَهُ عَلَى الظُّلْمِ " .
´‘Abbad bin Kathir Ash-Shami narrated from a woman among them, called Fasilah, that she heard her father say:` “I asked the Prophet (ﷺ): ‘O Messenger of Allah, is it tribalism if a man loves his people?’ He said: ‘No, rather tribalism is when a man helps his people to do wrong.’”
Hadith 4217
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ , عَنْ بُرْدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ , عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ , عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , كُنْ وَرِعًا تَكُنْ أَعْبَدَ النَّاسِ , وَكُنْ قَنِعًا تَكُنْ أَشْكَرَ النَّاسِ , وَأَحِبَّ لِلنَّاسِ مَا تُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِكَ تَكُنْ مُؤْمِنًا , وَأَحْسِنْ جِوَارَ مَنْ جَاوَرَكَ تَكُنْ مُسْلِمًا , وَأَقِلَّ الضَّحِكَ فَإِنَّ كَثْرَةَ الضَّحِكِ تُمِيتُ الْقَلْبَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “O Abu Hurairah, be cautious, and you will be the most devoted of people to Allah. Be content, and you will be the most grateful of people to Allah. Love for people what you love for yourself, and you will be a (true) believer. Be a good neighbor to your neighbors, and you will be a (true) Muslim. And laugh little, for laughing a lot deadens the heart.”
