Hadith 3001
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سُحَيْمٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَكِيمٍ بِنْتِ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ مِنْ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ ، غُفِرَ لَهُ " .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever begins the Talbiyah for ‘Umrah from Baitul-Maqdis, will be forgiven.”
Hadith 3002
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُصَفَّى الْحِمْصِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ حَكِيمٍ بِنْتِ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ مِنْ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ ، كَانَتْ لَهُ كَفَّارَةً لِمَا قَبْلَهَا مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ " ، قَالَتْ : فَخَرَجْتُ أَيْ مِنْ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ بِعُمْرَةٍ .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever begins the Talbiyah for ‘Umrah from Baitul-Maqdis, that will be an expiation for all his previous sins.” She said: “So I went out.” Meaning, from Baitul-Maqdis for ‘Umrah.
Hadith 3149
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَمَّالُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ الْعَشْرُ وَأَرَادَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يُضَحِّيَ ، فَلَا يَمَسَّ مِنْ شَعَرِهِ وَلَا بَشَرِهِ شَيْئًا " .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “When the ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah) begin, and one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, let him not remove anything from his hair or skin.”
Hadith 3150
حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ الضَّبِّيُّ أَبُو عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ الْبُرْسَانِيُّ ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ رَأَى مِنْكُمْ هِلَالَ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُضَحِّيَ ، فَلَا يَقْرَبَنَّ لَهُ شَعَرًا وَلَا ظُفْرًا " .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever among you sees the new crescent of Dhul-Hijjah and wants to offer a sacrifice, let him not take anything from his hair or nails.”
Hadith 3413
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ الَّذِي يَشْرَبُ فِي إِنَاءِ الْفِضَّةِ , إِنَّمَا يُجَرْجِرُ فِي بَطْنِهِ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ " .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The one who drinks from a silver vessel is swallowing Hell-fire into his belly.”
Hadith 3575
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تُمَيْلَةَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ , عَنْ أُمِّهِ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , قَالَتْ : " لَمْ يَكُنْ ثَوْبٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْقَمِيصِ " .
´It was narrated that Umm Salamah said:` There was no garment more beloved to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) than the shirt.”
Hadith 3580
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , قَالَتْ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمْ تَجُرُّ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ ذَيْلِهَا ؟ قَالَ : " شِبْرًا " , قُلْتُ : إِذًا يَنْكَشِفُ عَنْهَا , قَالَ : " ذِرَاعٌ لَا تَزِيدُ عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated that Umm Salamah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about how long a woman’s hem should hang down. He said: ‘A hand span.’ I said: ‘But then (her legs and feet) will be uncovered.’ He said: ‘Then a forearm’s length, but no more than that.’”
Hadith 3623
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا سَلَّامُ بْنُ أَبِي مُطِيعٍ , عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ , قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , قَالَ : " فَأَخْرَجَتْ إِلَيَّ شَعَرًا مِنْ شَعْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , مَخْضُوبًا بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ " .
´It was narrated that ‘Uthman bin Mawhab said:` “I entered upon Umm Salamah and she brought out for me a hair of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), which was dyed with henna and Katam.”
Hadith 3719
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , عَنْ زَمْعَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ . ح حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , حَدَّثَنَا زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ وَهْبِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , قَالَتْ : " خَرَجَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فِي تِجَارَةٍ إِلَى بُصْرَى قَبْلَ مَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَامٍ , وَمَعَهُ نُعَيْمَانُ , وَسُوَيْبِطُ بْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ , وَكَانَا شَهِدَا بَدْرًا , وَكَانَ نُعَيْمَانُ عَلَى الزَّادِ , وَكَانَ سُوَيْبِطُ رَجُلًا مَزَّاحًا , فَقَالَ لِنُعَيْمَانَ : أَطْعِمْنِي , قَالَ : حَتَّى يَجِيءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ , قَالَ : فَلَأُغِيظَنَّكَ , قَالَ : فَمَرُّوا بِقَوْمٍ , فَقَالَ لَهُمْ سُوَيْبِطٌ : تَشْتَرُونَ مِنِّي عَبْدًا لِي , قَالُوا : نَعَمْ , قَالَ : إِنَّهُ عَبْدٌ لَهُ كَلَامٌ وَهُوَ قَائِلٌ لَكُمْ إِنِّي حُرٌّ , فَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ إِذَا قَالَ لَكُمْ هَذِهِ الْمَقَالَةَ , تَرَكْتُمُوهُ فَلَا تُفْسِدُوا عَلَيَّ عَبْدِي , قَالُوا : لَا , بَلْ نَشْتَرِيهِ مِنْكَ , فَاشْتَرَوْهُ مِنْهُ بِعَشْرِ قَلَائِصَ , ثُمَّ أَتَوْهُ فَوَضَعُوا فِي عُنُقِهِ عِمَامَةً أَوْ حَبْلًا , فَقَالَ نُعَيْمَانُ : إِنَّ هَذَا يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِكُمْ وَإِنِّي حُرٌّ لَسْتُ بِعَبْدٍ , فَقَالُوا : قَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا خَبَرَكَ , فَانْطَلَقُوا بِهِ فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ بِذَلِكَ , قَالَ : فَاتَّبَعَ الْقَوْمَ وَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَلَائِصَ , وَأَخَذَ نُعَيْمَانَ , قَالَ : فَلَمَّا قَدِمُوا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَخْبَرُوهُ , قَالَ : فَضَحِكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ مِنْهُ حَوْلًا " .
´It was narrated that Umm Salamah said:` "Abu Bakr went out to trade in Busra, one year before the Prophet (ﷺ) died, and with him were Nu`aiman and Suwaibit the sons of Harmalah, who had been present at Badr. Nu`aiman was in charge of the provisions, and Suwaibit was a man who joked a lot. He said to Nu`aiman: 'Feed me'. He said: 'Not until Abu Bakr comes'. He said: 'Then I will have to annoy you'. Then they passed by some people, and Suwaibit said to them: 'Will you buy a slave from me?' They said: 'Yes'. He said 'He is a slave who talks a lot and he will tell you, "I am a free man". If you are going to let him go when he says that to you, do not bother buying him.' They said: 'We will buy him from you.' So they bought him from him in return for ten young she-camels, then they brought him and tied a turban or a rope around his neck. Nu`aiman said: 'This man is making fun of you. I am a free man, not a slave.' They said: 'He has already told us about you; and they took him off.' Then Abu Bakr came and he (Suwaibit) told him about that. So he followed those people and returned their camels to them, and took Nu`aiman back. When they came to the Prophet (ﷺ) they told him what had happened, and the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions laughed about it for a year."
Hadith 3751
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ الرُّمَّانِيِّ , عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كَانَ " إِذَا اطَّلَى , بَدَأَ بِعَوْرَتِهِ فَطَلَاهَا بِالنُّورَةِ , وَسَائِرَ جَسَدِهِ أَهْلُهُ " .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah that when the Prophet(ﷺ) would apply (it):` he began with his private area, coating it with hair removing chemical. And his wife would do the remainder of his body.
Hadith 3752
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ , عَنْ كَامِلٍ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ , عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " اطَّلَى وَوَلِيَ عَانَتَهُ بِيَدِهِ " .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah that:` "the Prophet(ﷺ) would coat (with hair removing chemical) and remove the pubic hairs with his hand."
Hadith 3884
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ , عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ , عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ مَنْزِلِهِ , قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أَزِلَّ , أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ , أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ " .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah that whenever he left his house, the Prophet (ﷺ) would say:` “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika an adilla aw azilla, aw azlima aw uzlama, aw ajhala aw yujhala ‘alayya (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from going astray or stumbling, from wronging others or being wronged, and from behaving or being treated in an ignorant manner).”
Hadith 4065
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ , وَنَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ , وَهَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَمَّالُ , قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُوقَةَ , سَمِعَ نَافِعَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ يُخْبِرُ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , قَالَتْ : ذَكَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْجَيْشَ الَّذِي يُخْسَفُ بِهِمْ , فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , لَعَلَّ فِيهِمُ الْمُكْرَهَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّهُمْ يُبْعَثُونَ عَلَى نِيَّاتِهِمْ " .
´It was narrated that Umm Salamah said:` “The Prophet (ﷺ) mentioned the army that would be swallowed up by the earth, and Umm Salamah said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, perhaps there will be some among them who were forced (to join them)?’ He said: ‘They will be resurrected according to their intentions.’”
Hadith 4086
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ الرَّقِّيُّ , عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ بَيَانٍ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ , عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ , قَالَ : كُنَّا عِنْدَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , فَتَذَاكَرْنَا الْمَهْدِيَّ , فَقَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " الْمَهْدِيُّ مِنْ وَلَدِ فَاطِمَةَ " .
´It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Musayyab said:` "We were with Umm Salamah and we were discussing Mahdi. She said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "Mahdi will be one of the descendents of Fatimah."
Hadith 4237
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ , عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , قَالَتْ : " وَالَّذِي ذَهَبَ بِنَفْسِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , مَا مَاتَ حَتَّى كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاتِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ , وَكَانَ أَحَبَّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَيْهِ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ , الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبْدُ وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسِيرًا " .
´It was narrated that Umm Salamah said:` “By the One Who took his (ﷺ) soul, he did not die until most of his prayers were offered sitting down. And the most beloved of deeds to him was a righteous deed which a person persists in doing, even if it is something small.”
