Hadith 26
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : " جَالَسْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ سَنَةً فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا " .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Abu Safar said:` "I heard Ash-Sha'bi saying: 'I sat with Ibn 'Umar for a year and I did not hear him narrate anything from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)"
Hadith 71
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْأَزْهَرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَشْهَدُوا أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ ، وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify to La ilaha ill-allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) and that I am the Messenger of Allah, and establish regular prayers and pay Zakat.'"
Hadith 1011
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" مَا بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ قِبْلَةٌ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘What is between the east and the west is the Qiblah (prayer direction).’”* *This refers to the Qiblah for the the inhabitants of Al-Madinah. (Makkah is to the exact south of Al-Madinah.)
Hadith 1272
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْأَزْهَرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَقِيلٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَالِمٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " رُبَّمَا ذَكَرْتُ قَوْلَ الشَّاعِرِ ، وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، فَمَا نَزَلَ حَتَّى جَيَّشَ كُلُّ مِيزَابٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، فَأَذْكُرُ قَوْلَ الشَّاعِرِ : وَأَبْيَضَ يُسْتَسْقَى الْغَمَامُ بِوَجْهِهِ ، ثِمَالُ الْيَتَامَى عِصْمَةٌ لِلْأَرَامِلِ " ، وَهُوَ قَوْلُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ .
´Salim narrated that his father said:` “Sometimes I remember the words of the poet when I was looking at the face of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on the pulpit. He did not come down until all the waterspouts in Al-Madinah were filled with rain. And I remember what the poet said: ‘He has a white complexion and rain is sought by virtue of his countenance, He cares for the orphans, and protects the widows, These are the words of Abu Talib.”
Hadith 1557
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَلْحَدُ ، وَآخَرُ يَضْرَحُ ، فَقَالُوا : نَسْتَخِيرُ رَبَّنَا ، وَنَبْعَثُ إِلَيْهِمَا ، فَأَيُّهُمَا سُبِقَ تَرَكْنَاهُ ، فَأُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمَا فَسَبَقَ صَاحِبُ اللَّحْدِ ، فَلَحَدُوا لِلنَّبِيِّ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “When the Prophet (ﷺ) died, there was a man in Al-Madinah who used to make a niche in the grave and another who used to dig graves without a niche. They said: ‘Let us pray Istikharah to our Lord and call for them both, and whichever of them comes first, we will let him do it.’ So they were both sent for, and the one who used to make the niche-grave came first, so they made a niche-grave for the Prophet (ﷺ).”
Hadith 2168
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْإِفْرِيقِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمُغَنِّيَاتِ ، وَعَنْ شِرَائِهِنَّ ، وَعَنْ كَسْبِهِنَّ ، وَعَنْ أَكْلِ أَثْمَانِهِنَّ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Umamah said:` "The Messenger of Allah, forbade selling or buying singing girls, and their wages, and consuming their price."
Hadith 3221
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَمَّالُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُلَاثَةَ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، وَأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أن النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا دَعَا عَلَى الْجَرَادِ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَهْلِكْ كِبَارَهُ ، وَاقْتُلْ صِغَارَهُ ، وَأَفْسِدْ بَيْضَهُ ، وَاقْطَعْ دَابِرَهُ ، وَخُذْ بِأَفْوَاهِهَا عَنْ مَعَايِشِنَا وَأَرْزَاقِنَا ، إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ " ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ تَدْعُو عَلَى جُنْدٍ مِنْ أَجْنَادِ اللَّهِ ، بِقَطْعِ دَابِرهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْجَرَادَ نَثْرَةُ الْحُوتِ فِي الْبَحْرِ " ، قَالَ هَاشِمٌ : قَالَ زِيَادٌ : فَحَدَّثَنِي مَنْ رَأَى الْحُوتَ يَنْثُرُهُ .
´It was narrated from Jabir and Anas bin Malik that whenever the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) supplicated against the locusts, he said:` “O Allah, destroy their large ones and kill their small ones, spoil their eggs and root them out. Take their mouths away from our livelihood and provision, for You are the One Who hears the prayers.” A man said: “O Messenger of Allah, are you praying against one of the troops of Allah, that they may be rooted out?” He said: “Locusts were sneezed out by the fish in the sea.”
Hadith 3731
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَقِيلٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مُجَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ , عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ , قَالَ : لَقِيتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ , فَقَالَ : مَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : مَسْرُوقُ بْنُ الْأَجْدَعِ , فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " الْأَجْدَعُ شَيْطَانٌ " .
´It was narrated that Masruq said:` "I met 'Umar bin Khattab and he said: 'Who are you?' I said: 'Masruq bin Adja'.' 'Umar said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) saying,"Ajda' is a devil."
Hadith 4215
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَقِيلٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ , حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ , وَعَطِيَّةُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ , عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ السَّعْدِيِّ , وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَبْلُغُ الْعَبْدُ أَنْ يَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ , حَتَّى يَدَعَ مَا لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ حَذَرًا لِمَا بِهِ الْبَأْسُ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Atiyyah As-Sa’di, who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “A person will not reach the status of being one of those who have piety until he refrains from doing something in which there is no sin, for fear of falling into something in which there is sin.”
